Today’s episode is filled with tips and tricks to make packing for an adventure easier. Heather is speaking with Roxanna Ferguson Travel expert who shares with us advice on packing efficiently, what you should keep at your seat and what to tuck away on overhead compartment. We also discuss the best way to handle laundry and your toiletry items while away. Roxanna tells us what her must pack items are and a few suggestions on money, language and getting around. When you have travelled to as many countries as Roxanna has, you learn very quickly what is essential and what you can leave at home. Packing items that can have multi uses is a great tip that she offers. For example a pashmina scarf can be used as a blanket wrap on the airplane for warmth, cover your head, shoulders and legs when necessary and also be used as a fashion piece. Using a soft sided bag will help get you a few more items in the bag and don’t forget to use the outside pockets as well. Take into consideration when packing items that will compliment multiple outfits for day and evening use, a maxi dress can be a great cover up after the shower or an evening dinner. Roll everything and avoid packing multi heavy items, perhaps only 2 pairs a jeans and take lighter weight pants as an option. Most hotels will offer complimentary toiletry items, take advantage of that so you don’t have to pack them. As well using the hotels laundry service at time can be very affordable and time saving.
