Equestrian Adventuresses Travel and Horse Podcast Ep 105 - Stirrups

One of the most underrated equestrian equipment, is possibly the stirrup. We don’t think about them until or unless we have a problem with our legs, our balance or riding for a long period of time. Today the variety of types of stirrups including high-tech ones, is mind-boggling. You can get them in different shapes, sizes, materials and for different purposes. So in our latest episode, Heather and Ute are discussing the different types of stirrups, a bit of stirrup history and how to get more comfortable in the saddle.

Horse Equipment & Gear for Equestrians

Stirrups

Stirrups are such as basic part of our equipment that we barely think about them. Yet the right kind of stirrup for the activity you are doing, will greatly increase your comfort and your performance.

Now, you might say, comfort okay, but performance?

Yes, a matching stirrup can help you balancing yourself and give you a firm and secure seat which will improve your performance in the saddle.

So when choosing your equipment, thinking about what type of stirrup will be best for you, is vital. Also if you have problems with your seat or feel insecure, uncomfortable or unsafe, a change of stirrups might do the trick.
