First Past the Post – A Historical Romance written by SJ Garland
A horse racing syndicate, a British aristocrat and a woman who will stop at nothing to get back her beloved horse, even if it means travelling to another continent. These are the ingredients of the book First Past the Post written by SJ Garland.
The story is set in the Victorian age in which Eva, daughter of New York’s High Society, owning and training her own race horses, is a bit of an exception as she is determined not to marry and to keep up her own self-determined life. At an auction, her favourite horse is stolen by a criminal horse racing syndicate and Eva is determined to find him and bring him back, no matter the costs. The search for her beloved horse takes her from the USA to England and makes her meet Francis Wentworth, Duke of Wiltshire who is also in hot pursuit of bringing down the syndicate and who is not at all amused of having a woman meddling in what he believes, is as a man’s job.
First Past the Post will be released on 4th July 2021!
