Creating girl power is what the ladies are all about. In today’s episode, Heather meets with two ladies that had a dream that they turned into a reality. They took some risks on themselves and have created a program that all horse-loving gals need to know about. They specialize in creating connections with humans and horses. With their empowerment program, they help guide women to self-discovery by providing life skills development that is essential for women moving forward with their life forward with confidence. Using the skills that they offer becoming your authentic self and the best version of yourself will lead to Girl Power and mindfulness.

Girl Power – The motivation
When you think of Girl power, women’s empowerment comes to mind. Shannon and Barbie of EmPower U Equine had a vision and a few goals when they started out on this journey. They had a dream to provide women with an opportunity with horses they have had. Providing the opportunity for women to become their authentic selves and investing in themselves is the goal of the program.
EmPower U equine – Programs
The ladies have grown their program to now offer Learn to ride programs, Women’s Empowerment Programs, Retreats & Workshops, Ladies Night Out & Date Night Events, Youth and Family Programs, Team Building Activities, Horse Camps, Riding Lessons, Equine First Aid, and so much more!

Special Announcement
Elkhorn Ranch
Calling all equestrians! Elkhorn Ranch’s tradition of equestrian adventure began 99-years-ago in 1922. Bordering Yellowstone National Park, the history of Elkhorn’s riding program runs deep, and the backcountry is where it starts. This Fall, we are hosting an Avid Riders week, where we are rounding up experienced riders of varying disciplines to come together to explore over one million acres of National Forest, USFS Wilderness, and Yellowstone National Park.
The goal of this week is to go far, not fast. Every day there will be groups that will hit the trails in every direction based on desired time in the saddle and comfort level. We will be racking up the mileage this week and working our way into the backcountry for mountaintop vistas that not many can get to.
Riding requirements
All riders must be willing to ride on rocky and steep terrain, as well as comfortable with walk, trot, and canter. Our horses are well-mannered and smart mountain horses, if you trust them, they will take you wherever you want to go.
