World Bitless Horse Day
Did you know that there is a World Bitless Association in the UK trying to promote not only bitless riding but also a kinder, more humane way of treating horses? They invented a World Bitless Horse Day which is always the first Saturday in September.
We endorse their mission of promoting education about the welfare of horses in daily life and competitive riding, even if bitless might not be an option for everybody. But incorporating the principles of fairness to the horse, compassion and free choice of bit or bitless into equestrian sports and life, is definitely a worthy goal.
